Description

Nike SB Blazer Mid Shoes

Arriving in a new photon dust colourway for SS20 these Nike SB Blazer Mid Shoes have durable suede uppers with leather detailing and a tacky rubber outsole. Carrying a distinctly retro aesthetic these shoes have been designed with a focus on durability, comfort and boardfeel within a hi-top silhouette which is inspired by classic basketball shoes. The lace up fastening helps to keep the foot in place when active and the fabric tongue underneath is lightly padded with a breathable mesh underside and woven Nike SB label added around its top edge. On either side of the foot light cream coloured swoosh ticks have been added above three small perforation holes and around the back of the heel a larger leather insert provides a background for embroidered ‘Nike’ lettering in white which has been capitalised for impact. Cushioning has been added around the inner border of the ankle and a fabric lining runs throughout alongside a Zoom Air unit which has been added to the sockliner. Vulcanised construction connects the textural rubber outsole to the uppers and encourages flexibility in addition to a low-to-the-ground fit with an extra section around the front of the toes. For multidirectional traction a herringbone tread pattern has been added underfoot.

First seen in 1973 the Blazer has a rich history as one of Nike’s first basketball trainers and has made a strong comeback in recent years thanks to updates in materials, construction methods and additional skate-performance features which have been added as part of the SB line. Remaining true to its retro look the hi-top shape helps to support the foot whilst high quality fabrics stand up to repetitive wear.
